Kenneth Nelson "Kenny" Butler Sr., 77, of Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born April 1, 1931, in Wheatland, Mo., to William Harvey Butler and Vada Faye Weaver Butler. He married Betty Joan Gire, on Oct. 21, 1951, and she survives of the thome.

Kenny was a truck driver and a dispatcher for Midwestern Distribution, in Fort Scott, for many years. He and Betty attended the First Christian Church, in Nevada. Kenny was a member of the Missouri State LPN Association.

Suvivors, in addition to his wife Betty, include; three sons, William E. "Sonny" Butler and his wife Kathy, of Nevada, Kenneth N. "Junior" Butler and his friend Isabel, of Nevada, Robert E. Butler, and his wife Kim, of Birchtree, Mo.; one daughter Teresa A. Butler and her friend Jeremy, of Nevada; five grandchildren, Jennifer Zermeno and her husband Cesar, of Nevada, Jay Butler, of Springfield, Heather, Felicia and Colton Butler, of Nevada; four step-grandchildren, Kurt, Nicole, Heather and Becca, of Birchtree, Mo.; two great-grandsons, Brailen Butler and Dominic Zermeno, of Nevada; one sister Velma Doris Betts and her friend Darren, of Springville, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with pastor Bill Platt, officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of services and the family receives friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home.
