Joce Allen was four for five at the plate in the opener, scoring three runs. Afton Gray was three for five with three RBIs. Hannah Hawkins was two for three and Jamie Collins was two for two.
Erica Davis (10-2) also pitched, allowing six hits. She didn't walk any batters while striking out 11.
Allen had four hits in the second game and also scored three runs. Hawkins had three hits and drove in five runs. Amanda Bowles had two hits and Davis drove in two runs.
One of Hawkins' hits was a home run, her first of the season. Another was a triple.
Simpson (3-1) allowed nine hits and three walks while striking out five. Only three Iola runs were earned.
The Tigers improved to 11-3 in the SEK and 14-4 overall. Iola fell to 8-6, 9-7.
The regular season ends Thursday, weather permitting, when the Tigers host Chanute in a league twinbill at Don Hewett Field. Play begins at 4:30. The junior varsity will play a doubleheader against Chanute at the same time on the south field.
