Uniontown splits with Chetopa

Uniontown's baseball team has won two of the three most recent games it has played, including a split of a home doubleheader with Chetopa at Bronson Monday.

The Eagles defeated Altoona-Midway in a Three Rivers League game Thursday at Buffalo, 9-7. In that game, Luke Spainhoward went four for four at the plate and stole three bases. Freshman Ty Clayton was three for four, stole three bases, and pitched a complete game for his first win. He walked eight batters and struck out seven.

In Monday's first game, a 15-5 win over Chetopa which counted in Three Rivers League play, Spainhoward (4-0) pitched all five innings, striking out 12 batters. Shawn Pritchett and George Pillion each had three hits. Pillion had three steals.

Chetopa won the second game, 5-0. The Eagles had only one base hit in that game, which was by Clayton.
