CHANUTE -- Fort Scott High's girls finished second in team standings while Tiger boys placed third at the Thad Clements Invitational here Friday.

Chanute's girls won the meet with 105 points followed by the Tigers with 89, 20 points ahead of third-place Independence.

Tiger boys scored 77 points, finishing behind champion Pittsburg's 104 and runner-up Wichita Northwest's 86.

Brieanna Jones led the girls' scoring as she won three individual medals and was part of a winning relay team. Jones won the 200 meters with a time of 27.34 seconds, the 400 in 63.07 and the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, 8 1/4 inches.

Ashley Cavin, Jolee Sharp, Kori Page Rienbolt and Jones were on the winning 4x400-meter relay team, which finished in 4:19.65.

Annie Gladbach was also an individual winner as she took javelin at 113' 6 1/2", about 16 feet better than the runner-up.

Elizabeth Meech finished second in shot put at 35 feet even while Cassie Ogran was fourth at 31' 10". Tiffnie Bradley was second in discus at 123' 1".

Jolee Sharp was third in high jump, clearing 4' 9". Catherine Sercer took fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 6:15.58 and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:41.73.

Cavin finished fifth in the 400 meters in 67.40. The Tigers' 4x100-meter relay of Cavin, Brittany Bingesser, Rienbolt and and Sharp took fifth in 54.91.

Fort Scott's 4x800 relay team with Kaylie Harper, Libby Halsey, Katelyn Torres and Megan McDermed was sixth in 12:56.45.

The Tiger boys' team had a 1-2 finish in javelin as Grant Hartman went 166' 11" and Clint Lawrence cleared 156' 10".

Brandon Boyd was listed as a co-champ in high jump along with Pittsburg's Jordan Bicknell at 6' 4". Jake Clements was third at 6' 2" and Alex Barner was sixth at six feet even.

Barner finished in third place in triple jump at 41' 1 1/2" while Clements took sixth at 38' 10". Lawrence was third in shot put at 45' 4" and discus at 152' 1".

Boyd took fourth place in the 200 meters in 23.98 and long jump with a mark of 19' 6". Mitchell Stoughton was fourth in the 100 meters in 11.65. The Tigers' 4x100-meter relay was fourth in 45.62.

Fort Scott's 4x400 relay took fifth place in 3:42.31. The 4x800 team was sixth in 9:30.31. Stoughton was sixth in the 400 meters in 58.18.

The Tigers will go to Iola Thursday for the Southeast Kansas League Relays. Action at Riverside Stadium is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
