Nevada tennis dropped its final home match of the season 4-5 to Clinton Thursday.
The Tigers won the No's 1 and 2 doubles points but were only able to salvage 2 more singles points and came out on the losing end. Taylor Chapman and Ethan Holmes began the day with a comfortable 8-5 win at No.1 doubles and James Smith and Dominic Habjan won at No. 2 8-6. Chris Claypool and Will Andrews-Weiss dropped the No. 3 singles point 6-8.
James Smith won handily 8-2 at No. 2 singles but needed more help from his teammates than he got. The only other singles winner was Dominic Habjan, who finally broke through and won a tie breaker 9-8 (7-5) after losing his previous two. Nevada travels to Webb City May 6 for a 4:30 p.m. match, its last regular-season contest before the district tournament May 9.
