Barbara Jean Aydelotte, 83, of Fort Scott, passed away Sunday April 20, 2008 at the Mercy Health Center. She was born December 6, 1924 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer and Mildred (Richardson) O'Connor. She married Richard Leigh Aydelotte April 30, 1949, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death January 17, 1997.

Barbara was a member of Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and participated in several Bridge Clubs, and a Pot Luck Social Group.

She is survived by her children; Rich Aydelotte and his wife Jonnie, of Fort Scott, and Elizabeth Cation and her husband Dale, also of Fort Scott, four grandchildren; Chris Lamb of Fort Scott, Jeremy Lamb of Topeka, Kansas, Kimble Aydelotte of Overland Park, Kansas, and Taylor Cation of Fort Scott, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was also preceded in death by her parents.

Father Darrin May will conduct the Funeral Mass for Barbara 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday April 23, 2008 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's School, or to Mercy Palliative Care, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
