Clean Up Fort Scott deadline extended

Friday, April 18, 2008

The "Clean Up Fort Scott" Poster Campaign deadline has been extended to May 5 to allow area schools more time to participate.

The poster campaign is sponsored by the Neighborhood Revitalization action team, Fort Scott Community Visioning and The Fort Scott Tribune.

The NR team is inviting all Fort Scott schools to help get people excited about taking care of their community by creating posters that encourage people to clean up and take care of Fort Scott.

Posters can be any size, any color, and created with anything. Posters should show how people can clean up or take care of Fort Scott and display a message of why it is important to keep Fort Scott clean.

The NR team is asking that classes choose or vote on two posters for each classroom that will be displayed in area businesses. Out of those posters, one poster per grade from all participating schools will be selected for publication in the Fort Scott Tribune. The team encourages teachers to display the rest of the posters throughout the schools.

Posters should include only the child's first name, grade level and school on the back of the poster.

The NR team will collect posters from schools on Monday, May 5 and will distribute them to area businesses.
