Jayhawk-Linn (2-6) had only two hits in the opener, which came from the bats of Amanda Black and Kelsey Ligman. Lynda Beth allowed only one earned run on six hits and struck out five.
In game two, Osawatomie went up 3-0 after one inning. The Jayhawks scored two in the top of the second but the Trojans responded with four in the bottom of the third and tacked on another run in the fourth.
Five Jayhawks had one hit each: Jessie McGown, Kenzy Sizzon, Alexis Billingsley, Taylor McGown and Ashton Spencer.
Kelsey Wade allowed seven earned runs on seven hits. She struck out three.
The Jayhawks are scheduled to play at Adrian (Mo.) this afternoon. They will also host Wellsville at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
JUNIOR VARSITY -- The Jayhawk-Linn junior varsity split with Osawatomie in a doubleheader on Monday at Mound City. They lost the first game 10-6 but took the second 5-3 with Brooke Wheeler getting the pitching victory.
The Jayhawk JV plays at Wellsville at 5 p.m. Monday.
NOTES -- Although there were no details reported, the Jayhawks' varsity record includes a sweep at the hands of Central Heights on April 8....
