Lions Field was too wet, especially in the outfield, to play Tuesday's scheduled Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division doubleheader with Independence. The teams will try to play this afternoon at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Greyhounds (21-16) go to Highland for another conference doubleheader.
Fort Scott needed only seven hits to win game one. Shortstop Jason Houston had two of them and also drove in four runs. Zach Caldwell scored three runs.
Taylor Hall was credited with the win, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in the first four innings. Eldon Little allowed one hit and two walks with three strikeouts as he finished things up.
Travis Cruz had two of Fort Scott's six hits in the second game. Designated hitter Evean Haezebrouck scored twice.
Kevin LeMoine went the distance on the hill, allowing three hits and three walks. He struck out nine Rockhurst batters.
