Verda Marguerite Todd, age 95, a resident of the Country View Nursing Home in Prescott, Kansas, and a former resident of East Chicago, Ind. and Conyers, Ga., died, Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Prescott. She was born March 18, 1913, in Dwight, Ill., the daughter of John Frisinger and Lona Mead Frisinger. She married Owen Hedwall in December of 1932. He preceded her in death in 1956. She later married Spurgeon Todd in 1958. He died in 1965. Mrs. Todd had worked as a librarian for many years at the public library in Lake County, Ind.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Johannsen, and husband, Tom of Independence, Mo. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Audrey, Vergil, Avis, Ruth, Bernadine and Lois and three brothers, Ralph, Howard, and John Jr.

There was cremation. Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan., was in charge of arrangements.
