Norman Dean German, age 71, resident of Fort Scott, Kan. went to be with his personal Lord and Savior Friday, April 4, 2008, at Mercy Health Center. He was born March 6, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Oral George German and Iva Pottorff German. He married Patricia Ann King on Dec. 23, 1968, at Miami, Okla. In his earlier years, Norman worked as a butcher by trade. He later worked for 3M in Nevada as a forklift operator and a die cutter. He retired in 1996. Norman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Rising Sun Lodge No. 8 A.F. & A.M., a life member of the Scottish Rite, and the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Mirza Shrine of Pittsburg where he served as a Hospital Dad, a Greeter and was a founding member of the Mirza Monster Trucks. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
