Kent entered into the US Marine Corps May 31, 1974, and served during the Vietnam War until his discharge Sept. 13, 1978. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and worked in the home construction field.
He is survived by his wife, Lucinda Reynolds Keal, of the home, his parents, Jeff and Virginia Keal of Overland Park, Kan., his children; Angela Van Anne of Tonganoxie, Kan., Amy Lee Vaughan of Kan. City, Mo., and Emily Katherine Keal, of Kan. City, Kan., six grandchildren; Kenneth Vaughan, Stella Vaughan, Savannah Vaughan, Christopher Van Anne, Courtney Van Anne, and Jordan Van Anne.
VFW Chaplain James Stradley will officiate Memorial services for Kent 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery with a visitation from 12 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
