Bryan Kent Keal, 53, formerly of Fort Scott, and most recently of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Life Health Center in Grandview, Missouri. He was born Jan. 28, 1955, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Jeff and Virginia Carol Jackson Keal.

Kent entered into the US Marine Corps May 31, 1974, and served during the Vietnam War until his discharge Sept. 13, 1978. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and worked in the home construction field.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda Reynolds Keal, of the home, his parents, Jeff and Virginia Keal of Overland Park, Kan., his children; Angela Van Anne of Tonganoxie, Kan., Amy Lee Vaughan of Kan. City, Mo., and Emily Katherine Keal, of Kan. City, Kan., six grandchildren; Kenneth Vaughan, Stella Vaughan, Savannah Vaughan, Christopher Van Anne, Courtney Van Anne, and Jordan Van Anne.

VFW Chaplain James Stradley will officiate Memorial services for Kent 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery with a visitation from 12 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
