GARNETT -- Anderson County swept a doubleheader from Jayhawk-Linn here Tuesday afternoon, taking the first game 8-5 and the second 12-2.

The Bulldogs held an 8-2 lead after three innings. The Jayhawks tried to rally, scoring four times in the sixth and once in the top of the seventh before falling short.

Kelsey Ligman had three hits in four at-bats for the Jayhawks (2-2) while Jessie McGown and Taylor McGown each had two hits. Rebecca Holloman also had two hits, both doubles, and drove in a run.

Anderson County scored 12 runs in the first inning of the nightcap and never looked back. The Bulldogs had 13 hits off two Jayhawk pitchers. The game was stopped after 4 1/2 innings due to the 10-run rule.

Ligman had two hits and drove in a run for the Jayhawks.

Jayhawk-Linn hosts Central Heights in a doubleheader at 4:30 Tuesday.
