Nola Pearlie Poore, 96, formerly of Uniontown, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, at her home in Fort Scott. She was born April 27, 1911, in Sheldon, Mo., the daughter of Earl E. and Martha Elizabeth Davis Roberts. She married Paul W. Poore April 6, 1929 in Moran, Kan. He preceded her in death September 18, 1988.

She is survived by her children; Melvin E. Poore of Mission, Texas, Leta Welch, of Fort Scott, and Martha Shelton, of Drexel, Mo., ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Howard Poore, four sisters; Ellen Clark, Mildred Christopher, Anita McCracken, and Ann Barnes, and three brothers; Bill Roberts, Fielding Roberts, and Floyd Roberts.

Pastor Marty DeWitt will conduct funeral services for Pearlie at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Burial will follow at the Uniontown Cemetery. There will be a visitation for Pearlie from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
