Reunion is announced for 50-year residents of Fort Scott: On the 22nd day of March, 1858, we arrived in Fort Scott and I think there are only five persons here today who were present on that eventful morning: Messrs. B.F. McDonald and Albert Campbell, Mesdames E.C Goodlander, T.F. Robley (then young children of Col. H.F. Wilson) and myself. There must be a number of persons residing in the country that arrived later in that year. I am desirous to have a reunion of all the actual residents of this city 50 years ago at my residence and will be pleased if they will send me their addresses as soon as convenient that arrangements can be made for a permanent organization of the few left to commemorate that occasion.--By Mrs. C.H. Hanes, 111 South Eddy Street, Fort Scott, Kansas
