LeROY -- Southern Coffey County swept Pleasanton here Tuesday night in a Three Rivers League basketball doubleheader. Titan girls took a 61-30 victory while SCC boys prevailed 58-38.

Southern Coffey County's girls (8-0 TRL, 18-0 overall) have yet to lose this season and are league champions for the second time in four years.

The very young Titans -- there are only two players older than sophomores on their roster -- got an early challenge from the Blu-Jays (2-4, 4-14) and led just 17-12 after one period and 30-25 at the half.

Unfortunately for Pleasanton, SCC turned up the defense in the second half, shutting out the Blu-Jays in the third period and outscoring them 31-5 in the half.

Kristen Garland led the Titans with 17 points as she connected on three three-point baskets. Casie Combs, SCC's only senior, followed with 15. Kaitlin Meyer added 11.

Carlee Campbell led Pleasanton with 11 points followed by Megan Mitchell and Morgan Conrad each with six.

Southern Coffey County boys 58, Pleasanton 38.

The Blu-Jays (1-5, 4-14) trailed by just 7-6 after one period. But the Titans (4-4, 9-9) outscored Pleasanton 24-7 in the second period to break the game open.

Dillon Roberts led Pleasanton with 16 points in a losing cause. Mackenzie Redding led SCC with 16 points while John Kraft added 11 and Jeremy Ludolph scored 10.

Pleasanton's teams will host Marmaton Valley in Three Rivers League play Friday night.
