Bonnie Coleen Young, age 64, resident of 120 Lincoln, Fort Scott, Kansas died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Mena, Arkansas as the result of an accident fall. She was born July 4, 1943, in Fort Scott the daughter of Clark Lewis and Opal Magee Lewis. Bonnie married William Carl Thorne. They later divorced. She married James Edward young in 1986 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and also cleaned individual homes. She was a member of the Brethren Church. Bonnie loved to acrylic paint, sew and listen to her favorite music.

Survivors include her husband James, of the home; one son, Dale Thorne and wife Deborah, Fort Scott; step-son Jamie Young and wife Cissy, Elkton, Kentucky; two step-daughters, Christy Johnson and husband Glenn, Mound City, Kansas and Deanna Dildine, Pocahontas, Arkansas. Also surviving are two brothers, Roger Lewis of Michigan and Clark Lewis of Kansas; one sister, Anita Sindelar, Mena, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Morgan Thorne; and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gerald Thorne; one brother, George Lewis; one sister, Jeanine Coyner; and one step-grandchild, Tristan Clements.

Pastor Chris Bowman will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Brethren Church, 1421 S. Margrave. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Wednesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Brethren Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
