He is survived by three sons, Landon Simons and Jayce Simons, both of Fort Scott, and Dakota Simons of Maysville, Ark.; a granddaughter, Kinsey Simons; his mother and step-father, Mary and Cleland Allen of Fort Scott; two brothers, Gary Simons of Kearney, Mo., and Larry Joe Simons of Fort Scott; five sisters, Janice Briggs of Bushton, Kan., Connie Simons, Diane Uray, Pam Riedel and Sondra Newton, all of Fort Scott; and a step-brother, Rodney Allen of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Simons, a brother, Bobby Simons, and a nephew, Gabe Hoover.
The Rev. James D. Tucker will conduct funeral services for Billy Ray Simons at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Clarksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Billy Ray Simons Memorial Fund and sent to or left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
