CAROLYN KAY CANON

Carolyn Kay Kepley Canon, 69, of Fort Scott, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 22, , at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., with her family be her side. She was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Ephraim and Gladys (Carnes) Kepley. She worked at Cowen's Country Corner for 17 years.

She is survived by two daughters; Fredina Gonzales of Fort Scott, and Valerie Weeter, also of Fort Scott, a sister; Donna Holdridge, of Redfield, Kansas, six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Wilma Gamble. Carolyn was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services for Carolyn will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home following cremation. Expressions of sympathy may be emailed to the family at expressions@konantz-cheney.com.
