UNIONTOWN -- Three Rivers League co-leader Southern Coffey County remains unbeaten after handing a 53-20 whipping in league play here Friday night.

Uniontown (0-3 TRL, 2-6 overall) trailed 43-16 at the half and didn't score in the fourth quarter.

"I thought our effort was good," Uniontown head coach Ken Holt said. "SCC is playing really well and we are just trying to improve each game."

Kaitlin Meyer led SCC (2-0, 8-0) with 13 points while classmate Shelby Birk added 10 for the sophomore-dominated Titans, who have one senior and one junior but eight sophomores on the roster.

Katie Spainhoward had a double-double for the Eagles, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Uniontown won the junior varsity contest, 23-6. Marliss Allen scored seven points for the Eagles.

Uniontown's girls will place Prairie View in the first round of the Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament Tuesday evening.

Uniontown's boys took a 57-40 win over Southern Coffey County in the boys' contest as Zach Mason scored 12 points off the bench and Luke Spainhoward added 11. Eagle boys also play Prairie View at Pleasanton on Tuesday.
