Edna L. Miller, age 78, a former resident of Uniontown and more recently of Valencia, California, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at her home in California following a brief illness.
She was born March 1, 1929 on the family farm near Uniontown the daughter of Loran Edward Ramsey and Eva Wilson Ramsey. She married Joseph Miller. He preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Miller had worked for the telephone company in California for thirty-five years.
She is survived by Don Sauer, the love of her life for nineteen years; a son, Steve Miller and wife Cyndi; three grandchildren, Angela Davidson, Dustin Miller and Nina Sauer; two step-sons, Frank Sauer and Dennis Sauer. Also surviving are two sisters, Julia Blythe and Nancy Loveall, both of Uniontown, Kansas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother, Ed Ramsey, and a son, Joseph Gregory.
The Rev. Marty DeWitt will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Burial will follow in the Uniontown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas.
