Patty Lou Smith, age 53, resident of Pittsburg, Kansas, died late Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., following a heart ailment.

She was born Oct. 10, 1954 in Fort Scott, the daughter of Merle Button and Mabel Dunham Button. Patty was employed at Pitt Plastics at the time of her illness.

Survivors include a son, Gary Camp, Fort Scott; and a daughter, Alisha Smith, Springfield, Mo. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Lauren Camp and Erin Camp, four brothers, Ronald Button, Ralph Button, Bobby Button and Donny Button, all of Fort Scott; and five sisters, Merlene Button, Bonnie Phillips, Mary Button, Tammy Merriman, all of Fort Scott, and Judy Snow, Mapleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant daughters, Patricia Marie Bolin and Michelle Lynn Bolin; and two sisters, Shirley Armstrong and infant Patsy Button.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main St.
