Goldie is survived by a daughter, Helen Irene Lashbrook, Belton, MO; a granddaughter (whom they raised), Janet Marie (Howell) Short, Pittsburg, KS; sister Rose Marie Neely, Medicine Lodge, KS; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands; son, James Henry Armstrong; daughter, Mary Tatro; six brothers, James Nelson "Casey", Eugene, Leonard, Albert, Elmer, and Wilferd Baxter; and a sister, Mildred Ann Dale.
Funeral services for Goldie Pickle will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2007, at the Grace Baptist Tabernacle, with Rev. Paul Rooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Baptist Tabernacle, and may be left in care of Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, KS, 66701.
