She was born Jan. 18, 1944 in Fort Scott, the daughter of Howard Carleton and Dorothy (DeLano) Hudson. She married Thomas William Smith on Feb. 2, 1963, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death April 12, 2003.
Kathy attended Pittsburg State University, and was the Executive Secretary for Mid-Continental Restoration. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons; Jeff Smith and his wife Tracy, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Paul Smith and his wife Cheryl, of Overland Park, a brother; Leigh Hudson and his wife Marsha of Fort Scott, a sister; Phyllis Wheeler and her husband Jerry, of St. Paul, Minn., and two grandsons; Kyle and Jordan Smith and three granddaughters; Alexis, Jadyn and Rylee Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Thomas William Smith.
Following cremation, the Rev. Steve MacArthur will officiate memorial services at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church, with a visitation immediately following at the church. Private burial will take place later.
