Edna Ellen Adamson, age 95, a former resident of Devon, Kansas, and more recently of Fort Scott Manor, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at the Fort Scott Manor.
She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Mapleton, Kansas, the daughter of Alva Deeds and Mary Agnes Farrell Deeds. She married Paul King Adamson on Dec. 24, 1930, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1998. Edna had attended the Devon Baptist Church. She was a member of the Devon Willing Workers Club which later became the Devon United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a son, Jack Adamson, and wife, Mary, Fort Scott; three daughters, Patricia White and husband, Bill, Devon, Kansas, Marilyn Harrington, and husband, Bob, Paola, Kansas, and Beatrice Alt, Fort Scott. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Paul, Frank, and Richard Adamson, and by twin sisters who died in infancy.
The Rev. R.B. Shoemaker will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Centerville Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Devon Fire Department and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S.
