Frank Hays and his son Josh reported very good results on their trip to South Dakota to hunt pheasants.
The Red Hat ladies from this area spent Wednesday afternoon playing bingo with patients in the rehabilitation department of the Mercy Health Center.
Several ladies of the Diamond Community Church met Sunday afternoon and filled boxes for the Christmas Child, which is a project of Samaritan Purse.
Marvel Beerbower and Mary Ellen Lundberg helped Opal Brillhart celebrate her birthday with pie and coffee at the Nu Grille last Thursday.
Birthday offerings at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Oct. 28 were Bradley Peel, Ruth Ember, Alice Pitts and Alvin Conner. Pastor Dale's sermon was entitled, "Christ Wins," taken from Revelation 20. Diane Gray sang the special. The church's Harvest Sale on Oct. 27 was well attended.
Elijah and Bella Conner, Joplin, spent a recent weekend with their great grandmother Pearl Conner.
Several Families form this area drove to Columbus Saturday evening to watch the Fort Scott Tigers play football. Fort Scott lost the game but all in all they had a very successful season. Congratulations to the team members.
Opal Brillhart gave a birthday offering at the Diamond Community Church, Nov. 4. The special was sung by Joy Muhota and James Mururu.
Pastor Stephen Muhota's sermon was the last on a series about "Jesus and the Bible."
There will be a carry in dinner at the church on Nov. 18. A speaker from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. will address those attending that afternoon.
