Rory D. Oliver, 51, resident of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
He was born Sept. 5, 1956 in Fort Scott, the son of James Oliver, Sr., and Margaret Turk. He enjoyed painting, drawing, fishing, antiques and music.
Rory is survived by his life partner, Lori Perigan; three sons, Rory Oliver, Keegan Dawkins, and Zachary Oliver; four daughters, Taneisha Davis, Autumn Todd, Kahlie Mapes, and Ariel Oliver; four brothers, James, Stephen, Rance, and Greg Oliver; four sisters, Jane McFarland, Lanita Tucker, Nyla Boyington, and Noreen Burrus; and two grandsons, Tresjuan and Darrias.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffrey and Henry Oliver; and a sister, Karen Oliver.
There was cremation. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at the United Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Scott, with the Rev. Leroy Nelson officiating. Services are under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel.
