Goldia Bell Wells, age 93, resident of 701 Osbun, Fort Scott, Kansas, died late Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Mercy Health Center.

She was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Hardy, Okla., the daughter of Charley Weston and Pairless Glen Weston. She married Willis Wells on June 19, 1929. He preceded her in death. With her husband she ran the Petersburg store south of Uniontown and was later employed by the SH Kress Store and the Red Barn Restaurant.

She was also known as the cake and noodle lady having baked many wedding cakes in her home. She enjoyed quilting.

Goldia is survived by one son, Richard Wells, Poteau, Okla.; and two daughters, Goldie Marie Weyant Arndt, Uniontown, Kansas, and Una Ladell Wells, of the home in Fort Scott; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her step-father, two brothers, and four sisters, two grandsons and one great grandson. She was the last of her family.

Following cremation, private family burial at the Uniontown Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the charity of choice and sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
