Nine Cheer cards had been sent since the September meeting. One was signed for Bob Prettyman who recently had foot surgery.

Christian Church Bonfire and Cookout for all who can attend will be held the evening of Nov. 3 in the Ball Park.
What used to be the Thanksgiving Dinner for friends over 70 years of age and older will now become Holiday Dinner on Dec. 1, in Christian Church Bungalow for the same age friends at 5 p.m.
On Nov. 11, after morning Church, God's Coffeehouse committee will be holding a benefit cookout of Hot Dogs and Hamburgers at their building. Tickets are on sale for a drawing at a later date for an outside grill. See Betty Dehn for purchasing tickets $1 each.
The Class was pleased to see an (almost) new blue covered Divan in the bungalow given by Jack & Mary Lee Payne. John Parrish gave his birthday offering.
With the help of Pastor David Peterson JOY has set a goal to help us become a soul winning Church instead of a Social organization. He blessed the plentiful dinner.

On the recent weekend the three Watt brothers played in the golf tournament at Truman Lake, the other brother, Allen & Linda Watt of Wichita met her brother, Charles Swartz from Western, Kansas and friend in Kansas City for two days at the Nascar races.
Perry Dobbins, born and raised in Arcadia, now living in Fort Scott was chosen as Veteran of the month last August. This is a part of the Fort Scott Elks National Adopt-A-Veteran program. Perry serves many times as Flag Folder at Veteran's funerals. We congratulate him for these honors.
Delton Watt Jr., went to Texas where he formerly lived to visit church friends and to pick up his car that he had left there when he and Billi and Joesph moved to Fayette, Mo., in September.
Nick Nickesson of Searcy, Arkansas and Chris King of Joplin, Mo., were dinner guests of her cousin, Vickie Shead on Friday evening. The guests attended the program in Fort Scott at Christian Heights School where Vickie is 5th and 6th grade teacher. She wrote the play about the life of Charles Wesley of Methodist Church fame that was presented by her students.
Following the program, the Sheads, including Mary V. enjoyed dessert in the home of Haley, Mark and Katy Shead who live nearby the school.
At the time of the funeral of Joe Taylor, some of his relatives attended the Arcadia Christian Church with Sam Lesley. They were Florence Karnes of Fort Scott, Shirley Driscoll and son of Arizona.
Pastor David Peterson has been having men attend Thursday evening gatherings at the Christian Church parsonage. The first of this series 12 men were present including Emory Briggs from Nowata, Okla.
The fellows enjoyed a cookout as well as discussing church business.
We are reminded of the song that former Pastor Charles Cable sang as a solo in Arcadia Christian Church lately that said

Last week Jace & Jesse Pavlik, Matthew and Ashley Shead all of Joplin, Mo., attended the Oak Leaf Festival in Carthage, Mo. The Pavaliks are Sunday School teachers and song leader in Arcadia Christian Church.
Mary Helen Green , Fort Scott, formerly of Arcadia and sister of Jean Ham. was guest in Arcadia Christian Church on Sunday morning, Oct. 21.
