Charlene Wallace, age 68, resident of 846 S. Crawford, Fort Scott, Kansas, died Sunday, October 21, 2007, at her home following a cancer illness. She was born March 10, 1939 in Fort Scott, the daughter of Clifford L. Uttinger and Edith A. Pryor Uttinger. She married Harold Wallace on August 24, 1963 in Fort Scott. She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 22 years. Charlene was a member of the Community Christian Church and served as Church pianist for many years. She was a member of the Progressive Mother’s Club. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Harold, of the home; son Jeff Wallace and wife Pam and their three children, Olathe, KS; daughter Shelly Schultz and husband Darren and their three children, San Antonio, TX; and brother, Kenneth Uttinger, Independence, KS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter.

Funeral services for Charlene Wallace will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, at the Community Christian Church, with Kevin Moyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
