Fort Scott soccer to play at Spring Hill Monday

FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Fort Scott High School’s soccer team was seeded ninth in the Class 4-3-2-1A Southeast Regional and will travel to Spring Hill for a first-round game Monday evening.

The teams were seeded, then split into two brackets. The Tigers, 3-12, are in the Southeast Regional I bracket and will play the Broncos, 4-11-1, at 6 p.m. Monday. The winner of that game will take on top-seeded Independence, 12-1-1, Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Independence.

Coffeyville, 6-9-1, earned the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 Baldwin, 7-9, for its playoff game Tuesday

The winner's of Tuesday's games meet at Independence for the right to advance to the state quarterfinals.

The Southeast Regional II bracket was also set. Monday’s first-round game has No. 10 Paola, 3-13, playing at No. 7 Columbus, 5-10-1. The winner of that match must travel to Louisburg, 12-3,1, Tuesday. No. 6 Riverton, 4-7-1, and No. 3 Ottawa, 8-8, will also face off Tuesday afternoon.

The winners of Tuesday's games will meet at Louisburg with a spot in the state quarterfinals on the line.
