Six new students were in Patty Peterson's Sunday School class on Sunday morning in the Christian Church. They introduced themselves at church time as Cheyenne and Darryl Crawford, Sabrina and Drew Isbell, Daniel and T. J. Kilgore. Karter Dugan was also in the class.
Guest Mark Shead accompanied the singing at church. With him was his wife Haley and Katy Shead just back from a business trip in Michigan to their home in Fort Scott.
Everyone is invited to the next Kid's Night, Oct. 27, at the Arcadia Community Center. There will be a hot dog roast, music , dancing, bobbing for apples and fun for everyone. Halloween costumes are optional.

Angela Redd and two daughters, Kristen and Bethany, accompanied Forrest and Ernestine Berkey to the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park on Saturday, Oct.13. From there they went on to Bonner Springs to attend the Renaissance Festival.
On Sunday after church, the Berkeys enjoyed dinner at Napolis Italian Restaurant in Pittsburg.
While Ralph and Cindy Shead were in Oklahoma last week, spreading the news of Learning and Teaching Ministries (LATM), they visited his Aunt Margaret Wickstrom in her Assisted Living apartment in Edmond, Okla. Enroute home, they visited Cindy's folks, R.H. and Jean Geurin in Bartlesville, Okla.
A good crowd of 50 or more attended the Sing-Out held in the Arcadia Community Center on Saturday evening, Oct. 13. There was group singing, solos by Janelle Bunny and Deryle Rotramel, and Donna Stephens. Bonnie Hines joined Janelle in a duet accompanied by Joyce Hines on the chord organ. Men on guitars and singing were Paul Starne, Carl Goodwin, Jim Kreiger and Deryle.
During intermission, members of the Fall Festival Committee served cookies, chips and soft drinks for a free donation.
A delegation came from the Free Will Baptist Church of Oskaloosa bringing a large basket of prizes including books, videos, etc. and a McDonald's $10 gift certificate for a free drawing at the close of the sing.
Pastor Chris and Kendra Bearden asked their two sons, Brooke and Zander, to draw the lucky winner, who turned out to be Mary V. Shead. Also from the church were Adam and Hannah Montee. Many other churches in the area were represented.
Members of AHS Our Gang will will be gathering for their monthly meeting, Oct. 20, for their chili dump dinner. If interested in Bingo, bring a white elephant prize.
Tuesday afternoon, Ernestine Ward was visiting friends in The Carrington Place in Pittsburg. They were Merlin Zollars, Maragarite Nettleton and Medg Bright, former Arcadian.
On a recent Saturday, Tom Watt brought lunch from Overland Park to Mae Watt's home. After a short visit with her, he headed for Tulsa for a few days of business meetings. He attended a golf tournament with friends before heading back to Kansas City.
