Judith Elaine King, age 65, a resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at the Miami County Medical Center in Paola, Kansas.

She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Louis Amos King and Marjorie Gertrude Lackrone. Judy graduated from Fort Scott High School and the Fort Scott Community College School of Cosmetology.

She had worked for twenty-three years as an inspector for the Kansas Port of Entry. Judy enjoyed painting and family genealogy.

Survivors include a sister, Peggy Ellis, Fort Scott, Kansas; three nieces, Cynthia Levine, Fort Scott, Susan Shuff, Walker, Louisiana, and Angela Dunbar, Kansas City, Kansas; and a nephew, Robert Ellis, Fort Scott.

Also surviving are her beloved dogs, Sissy and Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Connie King.

The Rev. Marshall Lackrone will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
