Labor Day Weekend Ranch Rodeo overall winners Beachner and Lazy B

On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Uniontown Saddle Club conducted its Annual Labor Day Weekend Ranch Rodeo having eight teams competing.

Overall winners were Beachner and Lazy B Ranch with members from the Bronson and Uniontown communities. Individual classes and their winners were as follows:

Auctioneering for the event was Frank Martin, Fort Scott Livestock Auction Company. The announcer was Ed Umphenour, Pleasanton, with the secretaries Teresa Hall, Bronson, and Breanna Esslinger, Uniontown. Deanna Fuhnnan, Bronson, was the treasurer. Jeannie Umphenour, Pleasanton, and Danea Esslinger, Uniontown, were the timers. Judges in the field were Glen Smith, Redfield, and Wayne Hall, Uniontown. The gate person was Lorna Smith, Redfield. Arena workers were led by President David Fuhrman, Bronson; with DeWayne Fuhrman, Dalton Fuhnnan, and Cliff Hall, all of Bronson; Darrel George, Cole George, Frank Lord, Jarod Lord, Wayne Hall, and Doug Hall, all of Uniontown; and James Moore and Marita Meech, Fort Scott. Stock Contractors were Wayne Hall and Clif Hall.

The concession stand was sponsored by the Good Luck 4-H Club, Fort Scott.

The funds raised from the Uniontown Saddle Club's five annual events enable the club to present annual scholarships ranging from $100 to $750 for as many as seven area students.
