Nevada, Mo. -- The Nevada Regional Medical Center Foundation will host its second annual gala Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Billed as Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala the event will start at 6 p.m. with a social hour, cocktails and appetizers. The Cottey College Jazz Combo will perform contemporary jazz favorites. Guests will then be served New Orleans inspired cuisine at 7 p.m. followed by the Gerry Kelly Comedy Hypnosis Show.

NRMC CEO Judy Feuquay said she is looking forward to the evening which she described as a thank-you to the many people who make the hospital a success.

"I would consider the gala as really just a celebration for our physicians, staff and community," Feuquay said. "It's a thank you to our donors who have given so much."

The gala will also help the foundation raise money for the hospital's ICU.

"The foundation is raising money for ICU monitors and equipment which will be of benefit to all of our patients," Feuquay said.

Kelly's hypnosis show is a combination of audience participation, situation comedy and improvisation. It combines the fun of total audience participation with the incredible abilities of the human mind.

"Hypnosis appeals to all age groups and is wonderful entertainment," says Kelly. "Performing has given me the opportunity to introduce hypnosis to thousands of people who otherwise might not have known about it."

According to Feuquay the evening should be enjoyable for all.

"I think it's going to be an absolutely fun evening with lots of good food and wonderful people," Feuquay said.

Sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $100. Tickets for the event are $75 per couple or $40 for individuals. For tickets call (417) 448-3609.
