Monday evening, Sept. 17, the Fort Scott Garden Club met at the home of Betty Hixon. All enjoyed a salad supper. Those present were, Annette Hixon, Pam Korinak, Beulah Queen, and Marie Wiley. The Oct.15 meeting will be held at the home of Debbie Marquardt, and all are asked to bring a trick or treat bag for roll call. Kathryne Singmaster, Beaverton, Ore., and her daughter Donna Singmaster of Fallbrooks, Calif. visited with family and friends in this area. They treated their cousin, Marjorie Lewis, to dinner Thursday evening, at Aunt Toadie's. Friday evening another cousin, Esther Secrest, joined them for dinner at Mayberry's Restaurant. After dinner, Marjorie treated all to ice cream at the Dairy Queen.

Erma Anthony, Paola, visited with Tony and Buena Karleskint last week.

Saturday evening, Sept.15, Joyce Worcester, her mother, Mable Taiclet, Ron and Linda Center and James met at the home of Charles and Mary Ann Myers to view the digital video disc showing of Bill and Joyce's trip to England this spring. They all enjoyed refreshments during and after the showing.

Monday evening, Sept. 17, Leah Lewis and Marjorie Lewis attended the meeting of the Daughters of the Nile at the home of Bernice Buell. The 16 women enjoyed a silent auction, from which the proceeds will go to the Convalescent Endowment Fund. Leah Lewis presented her mother-in-law, Marjorie Lewis, with a stepping-stone to happiness and a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses from the Daughters of the Nile.

The youth of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle planned a trip to Pittsburg to play miniature golf and a cookout in the park. However, due to the inclement weather, they met in the Family Life Center. They all enjoyed games and a cookout of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and homemade cookies. Sponsors were the youth pastor, Brian Rhoades and wife and Brandy, and Ron and Linda Center.

Eddie Karleskint and his son. Tony and Erica Davis traveled to Manhattan last week.

Tiffany Lewis, Kansas City, Mo., and her mother. Kitty Lewis, had breakfast with Marjorie Lewis Monday morning.

Ron and Linda Center hosted a birthday dinner for their daughter, Ronette, Sunday. Sept.16. Her family attending were, June Hereford, Scott and James Center, Jake Collins and Lindsey Center and Kelsie Jo. On Monday, Sept.17, which is her actual birthday, her nephew James Center and Linda delivered a birthday balloon and snickerdoodles, her favorite cookies.
