Cherry Grove Baptist Homecoming

Friday, September 21, 2007

Cherry Grove Baptist Church will observe its annual Homecoming services and activities on Sunday. Sunday morning services will be held as usual with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship services starting at 10:50 a.m. Other homecoming activities will include the traditional carry-in Big Church Dinner at noon followed by a short service and sharing of talents.

Everyone is invited for all of the services and activities. A special invitation is extended to those who have been affiliated with Cherry Grove in the past and to those looking for a new church home.

According to church matriarch Pearl Conner, 90-plus years old, the church was organized in 1918 with formal incorporation in 1919. The church is located about nine miles South of Fort Scott on U.S. Highway 69. For further information, call Pastor Dale Cummins at (620) 223-9877.
