Frosh volleyball goes 1-2 at Pittsburg

PITTSBURG -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team went 1-2 at a quadranuglar here Thursday, defeating Labette County while losing to Chanute and Pittsburg.

In the Tigers' win over LCHS -- by scores of 14-25, 25-22 and 15-12 -- Jenna Campbell served for 23 points and had three kills. Kori Allen led in kills with six and Morgan Tourtillott led in blocks with three.

In the second match of the night against Chanute, the Blue Comets took a 25-21, 19-25, 15-13 win. Campbell served 14 points and had six kills. Allen served for 12 points while Tourtillott recorded five kills.

Pittsburg swept the finale, 25-12, 25-16. Megan McDermed served 10 points while Campbell served six. Allen had four kills.

The freshmen have an 8-6 record for the season. They are scheduled to host Iola, Independence and Chanute in a 5 p.m. quad Tuesday, then play a dual at home against Uniontown Thursday.
