Shirley Ray Stanton

Shirley Ray Stanton, 79, resident of 323 East National, Fort Scott, Kan., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1927 in Girard, Kan., the daughter of Ray Heiser and Inez Carver Heiser. Shirley attended Fort Scott High School. She married Ted Stanton on May 2, 1944 in Fort Scott. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Ted, of the home; one son, Steve Stanton and wife, Jonni, Fort Scott; one daughter, Shirleen Jackson, Fort Scott; Three grandchildren, Jerod Stanton and wife, Mary, Overland Park, Kan., Lindsey Gulager and husband, Stewart, Chris Keating and wife, Melissa, all of Fort Scott. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Rev. Jared Witt will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Friday in the U.S. National Cemetery.
