Fort Scott High School's junior varsity tennis team hosted a round-robin tennis tournament Monday,
The No. 2 doubles team of Taylor Bailey and Lauren Caulfield finished the highest for the Tigers, going 3-1 on the day for second place.
Bailey and Caulfield defeated Columbus' Kelsey Hill/Taylor Bole, 6-1, and Iola's Reine Loflin/McKinley Ford, 6-4. Pittsburg was open in this division, so the Tiger duo received a forfeit win. Independence's Lexy Mangan/Cali Nutt gave the pair their only loss, 6-1.
Brittney Doherty placed third in No. 1 doubles. She was 2-2 on the day with wins over Bobbi Ann Shanks of Columbus, 6-4, and Sam Highfield of Pittsburg, 6-0. She lost to Ashlee Carr of Independence, 0-6, and Kriti Ghandi of Iola, 6-1.
Angela Love was Fort Scott's No. 2 singles player. She lost all four of her matches. She lost to Brianna Hilger of Independence, Shaylee Thomas of Columbus and Valarie Winslow of Iola, all by 6-0 scores, and to Erica Springer-Olivas of Pittsburg, 6-1.
The Tiger JV will be inactive until it hosts another tournament on Sept. 10
