The Eagles lost their first three matches. Southern Coffey County took a 22-25, 25-13, 25-17 win in the opening match. St. Paul took a 25-22, 25-21 win. Then Oswego picked up a 25-20, 25-16 sweep.
Uniontown defeated Altoona-Midway 25-19, 25-15, Crest 25-13, 25-13, and Chetopa 25-14, 25-10, to finish the day.
"Even though we finished 3-3, we saw a lot of improvement in team play as we went through the tournament," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. "We know we are a young team. But as the day progressed, the girls started really coming together as a team, really getting used to each other and adjusting to situations on the court."
Sophomore Abbie Smith led in kills in most of Uniontown's matches, picking up 37 on the day. She succeeded on 66 of 83 chances in attack.
The Eagles will go to Girard Tuesday. Erie will also be there.
