Robert Steven Emmerson

Robert Steven Emmerson, 61, of rural Sheldon, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at his home. Steve was born on Sept. 22,1945, in Fort Scott Kan., to Robert A. and Christine (Harris) Emmerson.

He had farmed near Sheldon for many years and did concrete work for many Barton County projects. He was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his long-time companion, Cherly Short, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Danette Emmerson, Siloam Springs, Ark., two daughters and spouses, Lisa and Doug Bowling, Moundville, Mo., and Brandi and Kenny Lawrence, Siloam Springs, Ark., the children's mother, Linda Emmerson, Siloam Springs; Ark.; two brothers, Kevin and Raymond; three sisters, Sandy, Brenda and Virginia and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service for Robert Steven Emmerson will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of DAniel Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.
