Jack Dillow, 76, a resident of rural Redfield, Kan., died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kan. He was born May 2, 1931, in Bentonville, Ark., the son of John Dillow and Maude Pruitt Dillow. Jack married Velva Louise Purdy on Sept. 12, 1953, in Chanute, Kansas. She preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 2003.
Mr. Dillow was a self-employed farmer and logger. Survivors include two sons, Jack Dillow, Jr., Lexington, Okla., and Jamie Dillow and wife, Melinda, Redfield, Kan.; a daughter Jaci Dillow, Redfield, Kan.; three grandsons, a granddaughter and two great-great-grandsons. Also surviving are three brothers, Rea Dillow, Sevierville, Tenn., Lewis Dillow, Chanute, Kan., and Ted Dillow, Buffalo, Kan.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, three brothers, Forrest, Leo, and Calvin Dillow; and three sisters, Nellie McMillian, Hazel Stoner and Olive Anderson.
There was cremation. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan.
