Harold E. Rosebrough, age 80, a resident of 1425 S. National, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007. He came into life November 8, 1926, at Sarcoxie, Missouri, the son of Elva Henry Rosebrough and Mary May Knowles Rosebrough. Mr. Rosebrough served with the Army during World War II. His overseas duty was spent in the Asiatic Theater. He was in the shoe business in Fort Scott for 53 years, from 1952 until 2005. He married Audrey Emlet on November 10, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Rosebrough is survived by his wife, Audrey, of the home; four children, Sandra Brink, Steve Rosebrough, Linda Shores, and David Rosebrough; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Grace Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Gene Rosebrough; and two sisters, Marie Rosebrough and Twila Copening. Graveside services for Harold Rosebrough will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the US National Cemetery in Fort Scott. Pastor Tim Davish will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post No. 1165 V.F.W. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Cheney Witt Chapel on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until leaving for the cemetery.
