Neva Ruth Bolden, 83, a resident of the Franklin House in Fort Scott, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center.
Neva was born April 30, 1924, in Marceline, Missouri, the daughter of Chesley Emerson Wolfe and Mary Ella Bixby Wolfe. She married Arthur S. Bolden on March 5, 1949, at Fort Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 1994. She worked as a Lab Technician at Mercy Hospital for over 25 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Fort Scott.
She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Neva is survived by four sons, Gary Bolden and wife Kristy, Fort Scott, John Bolden and wife Adele, Carl Junction, Missouri, Dennis Bolden and wife Joyce, Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Douglas Bolden, Fort Scott; two daughters, Linda Poyner and husband Jerry, Fort Scott, and Becky Castillo and husband Richard, Greenwood, Arkansas; brother Robert Wolfe, Glendale, Arizona; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; infant daughter Debra Ruth Bolden; brother, Harold Wolfe; and four sisters, Thelma Wolfe, Frances Connaughton, Dorothy Phillips, and Doris Douglas.
Graveside services for Neva Bolden will be held at 100 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the Evergreen Cemetery.William James Schafer will conduct the services.
