Beulah I. "Alderman" Leadstrom, 91, resident of Prescott Country View Nursing Home, Prescott, Kan., died July 7, 2007.
She was born June 6, 1916, in Old Elsmore Community --Rural Allen County to John W. Alderman and Sophia Lulu (Sylvester) Alderman.
Beulah grew up in the Old Elsmore Community, attending the Old Elsmore Grade School, graduating from Elsmore high School in 1934.
She lived in the Bronson area until moving to Neodesha, Kan., in 1968. In 1996 Beulah moved to Moran. Her last four years she lived in Prescott.
She was a member of the Moran Christian Church, Eva Chapter No. 18, Independence, Kan., White Shrine of Jerusalem, Coffeyville, Kan., and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, LaHarpe, Kan.
She married Richard Shelton, Feb. 19, 1936, this marriage later ended. On Aug. 12, 1971 she married Herbert W. Leadstrom.
Survivors include John Shelton and wife Martha of Drexel, Mo., Chuck Shelton, Uniontown, Kan., and Paulina Farra and husband Lew of Fort Scott.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., today, July 11, 2007, at the Moran Christian Church with Pastor Bill LaPorte.
A memorial fund has been set up in Beulah Leadstrom's name for the Moran Christian Church or Prescott County View Nursing Home.
