Ruby L. Sprigg, age 88. longtime resident of Bronson, Kansas, passed away July 4, 2007 at the Mountain Vista Retirement Village at Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
She was born January 19, 1919. at El Dorado Springs, Mo., the daughter of Clarence and Ada Belle (Craven) Hovcy.
Ruby grew up at Walker, Mo., going in the Walker schools and attended Cottey College at Nevada, Mo. She belonged to many service clubs in the Bronson area all of her life. She was a member of the Branson Baptist Church and the Dry Ridge Baptist Church of Bronson from 1947 until her passing,Sprigg retired from the Bronson Post Office as a Postal Clerk, after working from 1953 to 1976.
Ruby married Ray Lewis Sprigg on Nov. 27, 1938 at Nevada, Mo. This union was blessed with three, children.
She is preceded by her parents, Clarence and Ada Belle Hovcy; her husband, Ray Sprigg on Dec. 15, 1991.
Ruby is survived by her children; Harlan Sprigg and his wife Sharon of Thornton, Colo.; Charlotte and her husband Lowell of El Dorado Springs, Mo,; Alan Sprigg and his wife Deann of Elsie, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Dry Ridge Baptist Church at Bronson, Kan., burial to follow at the Oak Trill Cemetery at Butler, Mo. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service at Moran, Kansas.
