Plans made for OES pin presentation June 23

Violet Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Fulton, met June 13 with Worthy Matron Karen Demm and Worthy Patron Raymond Flanner presiding. There were 24 present including guest Shelly Huss, OES member from Louisiana and her infant daughter, Minka. Mrs. Demm welcomed everyone and read "Tribute to the Flag" in observance of Flag Day June 14.

Plans were finalized for the open informal meeting on June 23 for the presentation of 50-year pins by the Worthy Grand Patron, Mike Towner to Lucile Snyder, Howard Snyder, Alice Good and Roberta Krull. There will be a salad supper at 6 p.m. and pin presentations at 7 p.m. The Fulton Masonic Lodge is scheduled to present 50-year pins to Bob Clayton and Bob Sipe at 7:30 p.m. followed by observance of St. John's Day.

On motion by Don Kelley, seconded by Mary Beckford, members unanimously voted to present honorary memberships to Isabel Adams, Worthy Grand Matron and Mike Towner, Worthy Grand Patron at the June 23 meeting.

Invitations were read from chapters in Hiattville, Columbus, Pittsburg, Baldwin City, Nevada and Lamar, Mo. Delphine Parks reported on a visit to Olive Chapter, Fort Scott. Several members were reported as ill or having surgery.

Under Good of the Order, in observance of Father's Day and to honor the Masons, Mrs. Demm read Scripture on faith, hope and charity along with poems, "What Makes a Dad" and "Legacy of Laughter from Dad." Eleanor Rogers, pianist, played "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." All men were honored with gifts.

Lucile Snyder and Delphine Parks were honored with the birthday song. Chapter closed in form. Eleanor Rogers and Deanna Wier served refreshments.
