Seifert receives medical degree

WICHITA -- Clinton Lyle Seifert, Fort Scott, Kan., was among the 157 medical students who made up the class of 2007 for the 135th Commencement of the University of Kansas, Sunday, May 20, at Memorial Stadium in Wichita.

Seifert was one of 52 medical students graduating from the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita.

Having earned his medical degree, Seifert will begin his residency training program in general surgery, University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita.

According to a statement from the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita, its program is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education.

Since the first KU School of Medicine - Wichita class graduated in 1975, 1,510 physicians have earned medical degrees from its facility.

The statement said about half of these physicians eventually established practices within the state of Kansas, fulfilling KUSM-W's promise of "Educating Doctors For Kansas."
