PHILIP JOHN SAXER

Philip John Saxer, age 64, a resident of Paola, died Sunday, may 13, 2007 at the Pinnacle Ridge Nursing Home in Olathe.

He was born July 8, 1943 in Wichita, the son of Harry Saxer and Margaret Roberts Saxer. He married Kathy Motes in November 1970. They were later divorced. He attended the Kansas State School for the Deaf at Olathe. He worked in the printing department of the Kansas City Star. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, working on cars, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his former wife and caregiver, Kathy Motes, of the home in Paola; a brother, David Saxer and wife, Ramona, Olathe; and a nephew, Harvey

Saxer and family of Sugarland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tony Roberts.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the West Plains Cemetery.
